The TOSA package also includes an optical isolator, a PIN photodiode, a thermistor and a thermoelectric cooler. It is designed for SONET IR 2 (40km, 800ps nm dispersion) and 10GBASE ER, and SONET LR 2 (80km, 1600ps nm dispersion) applications.
