This item is a vintage Royal Dolphin 18/8 stainless steel gravy / sauce boat designed in the Georgian style with the scroll handle
which based on its style would most likely place its date of manufacture around the early 1900’s
The very tip of the head tuft has a chip at the point
the sugar spoon is in very good condition
These items were manufactured in Sheffield between 1863 and 1870

In 1811 James Dixon took on a partner in the firm and it became Dixon & Smith. In 1822 the company moved to Cornish Place and became Dixon & Son, becoming Dixon & Sons in 1835. In 1879 the famous trumpet and banner mark was granted. In the 1920s the firm also began to produce cutlery under the Staybrite and Firth names.
