Black cherry and blackcurrant fruit with some licorice and truffle are all present in this dense purple wine

tannic and structured

fresh and vibrant

if not completely cleaned up to where the reduction was more of a nuance rather than dominating the ripe dark currant

There is so much fruity succulence here that the wine should stand up to a gamey dish of liver pâté or pasta with wild boar

Bourgneuf Size:12x750ml Black cherry and blackcurrant fruitAustere, old school style of Pomerol is rough in texture and lacking in ripenes, fruit and charm. There is some red fruit, and hints of spice and earth, but the style of the wine did not thrill me.
