B-47 Stratofortress Type A-5 Fire Control System Maintenance Digest French Armée de l'Air This is the "Control Unit"This is an original Maintenance Digest for the General Electric Type A 5 Fire Control System Model 2CFR10A2 used in B and E versions of the USAF's Boeing B 47 Stratofortress Strategic Bomber. It is dated February 1954. The Type A 5 Fire Control System was a radar directed tail defense system using twin 20mm cannons mounted in a tail turret. The system controls were mounted behind the co pilot, who would swivel his seat rearward to operate the system.
